In an exciting initiative, an announcement was made today of the opening
of the first International standard sports fishing operation in the Republic of
Palau. Long regarded as one of the world’s premier dive destinations, the opening of
International Anglers Palau, Inc. marks a new and exciting era in the tourism industry for
this beautiful Micronesian country.

The creation of this operation has taken a number of years in its
formation, as staff was trained and the relocation of high quality sports fishing equipment into
Palau was completed. Sam Scott, President of Palau Sea Ventures, Inc. dba. Sam’s
Dive Tours and Planet Blue Kayak Tours and Chairman of the Belau Tourism Association in
Palau, has consulted on the project since inception. According to Sam, ”the

increased dramatically in the last five years.“ He further added, ”In addition,
emphasis on diversified activities including kayaking, nature conservation, culture
and historical site tours has been increasing, with stronger marketing emphasis from
Palau Visitors Authority.“ "Sports fishing is the next major product to be developed
in the Republic of Palau," he said.


International Anglers Palau will market a wide range of sport fishing
programs and experiences reflective of customer expectations from Asian, European and
North American angler markets. Operationally, the International Anglers Palau
fleet consists of two quality vessels: Virgo IV – a 41-foot flybridge sportfisher with
twin 400hp diesels, air-conditioned salon with galley, head and berths. This
exceptional vessel is fully rigged for offshore action. Skippered by Jim Persinger, a US
Coast Guard licensed captain, Virgo IV has rapidly established itself as the premier
sportfisher in Palau. SEACAT – a 26-foot, twin outboard, cuddy cabin power cat capable of
supporting the best of offshore trolling or in-shore casting programs. Fully rigged
this vessel is comfortable and sure-footed.

Both vessels are fully licensed to operate in Palau waters, and carry
the latest in marine navigation and safety equipment to ensure maximum guest comfort at all
times. Crews are also fully certified and are experienced in local water and
